I think that in the book “Night” Elie and his family would have had a better chance to live if they went up into the mountains and lived in the friends hut. When Moshie came from the camps he told everyone that there were camps for exterminating people. No one believed him so when the time came they were not prepared for what was going to happen. When he got to the camps he explained that there was a line that they had to get into off the train and they split you up. So if you go to the right to get gassed and if you u go to the left you live but have to go through hell. His family got separated except for his dad. His mother and sister died in the gas chambers. It was just Elie and his father left. So he explains that if he dies his father will die. Or if his father dies he will die. They relied on each other to get through it. His father dies at the end exhaustion and being worn out. If I changed anything I don’t think I could because Elie got out alive. So I am not sure what I would do differently because even though his whole family died he lived. Maybe if his father had a little more to eat, or is his family gone to the other line they would have lived. But I don’t know what to change because he did everything in his power to have the best chance.
